House music fans will be happy to know that the likes of Tiesto and David Guetta have entertained the dancing throngs inside this historic building. These days, following some extensive and relatively recent renovations that preserve its character, it does double-duty as a live music venue and dance club, featuring both national touring acts and DJs alike. The Beacham began its life in the 1920s as a showcase for vaudevillians. While guests of all ages are welcome during the day, you must be at least 21 to enter after 10 p.m. No ball caps, sleeveless shirts or flip-flops allowed. Men may wear slacks, jeans or dress shorts. Michelle's expert tip: Guests arriving after 10 p.m. Recommended for Dance Clubs because: There aren't many places you can find a dance club that transports you back to the 1920s. In between dance sessions, guests can enjoy a full bar and menu of food with throwbacks to the 20s. There are intimate tables surrounding the dance floor as well as tables lining a second-floor balcony overlooking the action. Locals also love this place for its unique vibe. Located in Disney Springs, this is the place where you'll find Aunt Mindy from Pittsburgh breaking it down on the dance floor while a live band plays swing music. The staff dresses the part in flapper-type dresses, suspends and newsboys caps, and many of the guests do as well adding to the fun atmosphere. Take a step back in time at The Edison, themed to look like a 1920s electric company. Those looking for velvet ropes and bottle service need not apply. Taxidermy and other rustic lodge-style touches make the theme quite immersive for what amounts to a beloved local dive that's still going strong after many years in the downtown scene. ![]() For the rest of us, though, who might appreciate a mellow, draft beer experience at 5:30 pm on a Monday and a rowdy, put-your-hands-in-the-air kinda vibe when the clock strikes midnight on Friday (or do we mean Saturday?), the Lodge is a dive-bar chameleon of the highest order. It's a bar, it's a club, it's whatever you want it to be except fancy, so if you're a VIP-section kinda clubber, this ain't your jam. Blue Martini brings it for a more sophisticated crowd.Ī.D.'s expert tip: Blue Martini's happy hour goes long, which is nice if you can't make it out of the office at 5. Recommended for Dance Clubs because: Gen Z & Millennials aren't the only demographics who likes a good dance party. There are Blue Martini locations throughout Florida and a few others in Washington, Texas, Arizona and Las Vegas, so it's a hot spot with which you may already be familiar. Blue Martini's demographic is impressively diverse on a packed night, you might see multiple generations burning up the dance floor and sipping generously poured cocktails. Entertainment here comes in the form of either live bands or DJs â" some nights showcase both (the records usually start spinning around 10). Monday's Industry Night and Wednesday's Ladies' Night are both particularly popular, the latter featuring deep bar discounts for members of the fairer sex. I loved going by the store and was excited to see my Thunderbird in the window with all of the other models. All of the models were displayed in the front window for about a month for all who passed by the store to see. Once finished, we took it back to Sprouse-Reitz as my official entry into the contest. I painted it red with black interior, a rather lumpy paint job if I recall, but I thought it looked great. I wasn’t going try spray painting again, that was too risky, so I decided to paint it the best way I knew how: with a small model brush. She agreed to pay the $1.98 for the replacement model kit (I must have begged, cried, or something) and we came out with a ’63 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster kit. It definitely was not suitable to enter into a model car contest. Well, things didn’t work out very well with the spray paint and I ended up making a mess out of the Fairlane. I wanted to paint it candy apple red over a gold base coat, so we got the spray paint and I was left to my own devices. Using my allowance that I saved up, I purchased an AMT ‘63 Ford Fairlane kit as my entry. My mom, being the supportive stay-at-home mother that she was, took me (and dragged my two sisters) to the store. Part of the requirements of the contest is that you had to buy your model kit at the store and enter it at the time of purchase. What we don’t know, though, is whether being a night owl or early bird is the cause. Most studies on this topic look at patterns there seem to be trends emerging that certain body clock patterns and health conditions run together. In short, more research in this area is needed to know for sure. Why might your body’s clock and your activity level be linked? Night owls, as compared to morning types, had up to 60 to 90 fewer minutes per day of activity. After considering some factors that may explain differences, such as education or background health conditions, they found that being a night owl was linked to lower physical activity. Researchers also identified whether each person was more of an early bird or night owl, based on a well-studied questionnaire. Using a wrist-based device that measures movement, over 5,000 participants’ activity levels were collected for two weeks.
